I am extremely frugal and thought that planning a wedding here would be easy. I don't want to go to a cheesy chapel, but I'm thinking I might have to because of all these expensive weddings I'm being quoted. I started getting prices from casinos, but it seems like everything I see charges more than the national average for the ceremony itself.

For reception, my budget is $4000, and I'm getting quotes for $35 per person which is doable. But for the ceremony, I have $400 budgeted, and a lot of places are telling me that it's going to be way more than that. Unless I have a tiny amount of guests (and we're planning over 50), it looks like the ceremonies are more than I can afford. For example, Aliante Station quoted me $35 per person for the reception and $2000 for the ceremony. When I asked about this, they said the ceremony is usually $60 per person. Since when do people charge per head for a ceremony, and since when is it more than the reception?

I don't know anything about weddings, but is there something different about weddings here that I'm not grasping?

Will one of the Vegas wedding chapels on LV Blvd do? Have you tried a real church? Why do you want to get married at a casino?

I don't want to get married in a church because neither the groom or myself have attended church in years, and I don't want to do a Vegas wedding chapel because it seems too cheesy and out-of-townie. I assumed a casino was the only other option.

Check out The Grove out past Santa Fe Station. I got married there along with several of my friends. Their ceremony prices are extremely reasonable. I think we had about 40 people and the ceremony was definitely under $1,000.

Have you googled "ministers in Las Vegas"? There are numerous ones that will "come to you". Not sure of the prices but this could be a little cheaper.

Yes...my brother and his wife got married under the natural arch at VOF State Park using a minister on request.

Sounds like a drive thru wedding to me.

My wife and I aren't religious at all. But we still were married in a church. Some traditions are still fairly useful.

Las Vegas Outdoor Weddings at The Grove - Las Vegas Garden Weddings, Las Vegas Gazebo Weddings

Thank you for suggesting them, but I already contacted them because I have a friend getting married there this year, and they told me that if I wanted a Saturday evening wedding, I had to have a minimum of 100 guests. What time of day did you get married?
