Wow, what a mistake.
You think??? Glad you're leaving. We don't need your bad attitude here. And someone more grateful than you would love to take that $12 an hour job.

For you who don't have a choice but to live here good luck, but I'm going back to civilization.
Just proves my point that he obviously didn't do his homework before coming here.

OP, you need to get back in the "caaar" and drive back to "Bossston" since we're so un-civilized

Nolan05 what are you talking about? Vegas is anything but like any other city with the same kinds of people. It's a desolate place filled with shady characters and con-men. It's a place so devoid of decency that even the animal shelter is a scam. vegas No place to walk or go at all if you don't gamble. Whole foods offers the only healthy food. If you are intelligent, and have class, you will be extremely sad here. I've never seen so many obese, seedy, stupid, hollow people. The environment is UGLY and it is so difficult to do outdoor activities. No sense of community and it seems the only fun here to be had is getting drunk and using drugs. Vegas is very unhealthy.

You might think it sounds Judgmental but no this is sadly, reality in this city. I must Maintain Mental Stability right now and that is a key issue for me. You see when you’re surrounded by Wolves, Fools, theifs, gypsys, whores and everything else that Vegas has to offer you began to become desensitized thus developing a cold heart, you become anti social (unless you choose to conform and adapt) you can't trust anybody Your very soul is being Tortured and slowly you began to lose yourself, and then the Dark side comes out. The reason for this is because your mind decides FLIGHT OR FIGHT if you choose Flight, Good for you, you were smart. If you choose to stay and Fight be prepared for thoughts, words and actions you never even dreamed of.
Comeon this entire city is blue color. Maids and bartenders and desk clerks and valets and dealers. Sure there are strippers and whores. Just as there are anywhere.

You think those people are "Wolves, Fools, theifs, gypsys, whores"? Well maybe a couple of whores...but the rest? You lost your mind?

All those maids and bartenders and desk clearks and valets are torturing your soul? Say that to yourself real slow...they are trying to get my soul! Sure they are...

If you wished to complain that you were unchallenged and lacked intellectual companionship perhaps a legitimate complaint. But sucking your soul?

It's a matter of survival and it gets ugly out here, of course the million dollar question. What Lessons are to be learned from these experiences? Let me share my Lessons. You can't speak Logic and reasoning to fools or crazy people they don't have the mental comprehension to understand it. So in other words learn to quite your mind and don't waste your energy on trying to figure out or rationalize why these people are so dysfunctional. Another invaluable lesson is I will never again take for granted my homeland or the simple things in life, like real trees, the rain, the snow, and the very Fresh Air I breathe.
Ahh at the end it comes out. Poor boy is homesick. Needs to feel the grass between his toes and the rain on his forehead. Needs to smell the ozone in the the tunnels. Needs a good dose of dirty snow in his shoes to remember why he loves Boston..

And it is the fault of Las Vegas and likely his wife that he is in this terrible state.

Sometime you wonder why they let these people out without a guardian.

And BTW I really feel for the people who, out of no fault of their own, have to stay and live in Las Vegas. Maybe not as bad as living in a third world slum, but it has to be the worst luck for anyone in the US to wind up here. It is the worst place I have ever been, and I have traveled a LOT, both here and abroad. Dry air giving you nosebleeds... can't drink enough water to stay hydrated either. It seems like your body loses water faster than you can even drink it! Dust everywhere. "Blocks" so long it takes 3-4 times as long as you think to get anywhere on foot. Nasty people shoving porn in your face on the street, or in the car with big tv screens in the back seat. Don't forget all of the wackos with gambling addictions. PATHETIC. Smoke ruining your fun anywhere you go, and tons of $$ going down the drain and into criminals' pockets. Sorry but don't try to lie in my face if you decided to lie to yourself.

Again, you obviously didn't get it and you still don't get it.

If you did your homework, you would find out that there are more parks per square mile than most cities. Many of these parks offer amenities such as soccer, volleyball, tennis, frisbee golf, basketball, as well as water areas where kids can splash during the summer.

If you did your homework and researched the city, you would have found that you can snow ski in Las Vegas only 45 minutes from here up in Mt. Charleston. You can also operate a boat over at Lake Mead, that in addition to the numerous golf courses all over the area.

You're making yourself look ridiculous now and losing what little credibility you had so it's best you follow some "healthy" advice. Stop!

I don't read the forums for any other cities here on C-D, but I've got to believe Las Vegas attracts a far bigger share of the clueless than other cities. I'm just amazed at how poor these people are at decision making. Makes me wonder how they manage to function in modern society at all.
i wonder the same thing... i imagine it has something to do with more people coming here chasing a dream (perhaps tied to gambling and winning big) more so than other cities (save for LA and people who go there chasing the dream of being an actor/singer/entertainer). just my thoughts, doesn't make it so

We are coming back again after a short time away and it is for the kids who love it in Henderson/Vegas area and have bugged us since we left to return....
AAARRRRGGGHHHH.... I knew I made a mistake... my neighbors are MICHIGAN FANS!

Obviously, your wife is the brains of your relationship... You should make HER happy and not just think of yourself. If you think your marriage is in trouble.. .it's YOU...not Vegas!
