Perhaps off topic but I think that chefs like Lagasse and Puck hurt their brand when they become so big that quality is no longer a concern.

The tapas restaurant in The Cosmo is awful. We went their with a party of 6 and ended up spending ~$300 and none of us were remotely satisfied. Each dish was literally 1-2 bites. I thought the waiter was joking when it poured my "soup."

We had to go to McDonald's afterwards to get a real meal.

Puck's restaurant at the Crystals in City Center is good so is the one at the Preserve, not quite sure if he still has the deal with the Springs Preserve but the times I've been at both places, the food was decent.

At least Thomas Keller makes the rounds between his six restaurants fairly regularly.

My problem with "celebrity chef" restaurants is that people go there to try the food of the celebrity chef -- who more often than not is no longer anywhere near a kitchen.

Yes, yes, the executive chef was hand-picked and came up through the ranks. But let's be real -- if you go to Spago do you want to eat Wolfgang Puck's food? Or Joe Bloughs?

I think Pamplemousse is way over rated.

We had the lobster special (5lb for two) at The Palm and we were underwhelmed.

Finally, any restaurant that charges double digits for a baked potato just sort of offends me.

Pamplemouse, to my way of thinking, has ALWAYS beern tremendously arrogant....maybe its French authenticity.

George La Forge must be doing something right for his Pamplemousse Rsetaurant to stay in business this long. I have worked for the man back when he had his Savoia Restaurant across the Hard Rock Hotel on Harmon. Nice man and dedicated.

Any eating establishement in Sam's Town. They all have huge banners proclaiming that they are multiple "Zagat award winners". Not sure what a Zagat award is but if it represents mediocre food at more than moderate price then yes they should receive one.

At first I thought I'd like Carlito's Burritos, but after eating there my wife and I were really disappointed. They say they are from Albuquerque, but that restaurant wouldn't last a week in Albuquerque.

Try Julian Serrano @ Aria for ambiance and food, nice place and also the Firefly @ West Sahara near the Sahara West Library. The original Firefly on Paradise gets packed so I prefer the one in my side of town.
