Greetings...
I've been to Vegas many times but always in the summer. Never been there around the holiday season. Looks like this year will be a mid/late December visit.

I've been wondering... does Las Vegas (the main strip, the big hotels) do any kind of x-mas decorating? You know.. Big trees, lights, fake snow, etc...

For those who have been to the Vegas strip around this time, does it look a lot like Christmas?? Or is it just like the summer months?

Yes and no. Most hotels do decorate, but Christmas in Las Vegas is just not the Norman Rockwell view Americans love. Of course, Christmas in Las Vegas looks exactly like the location of the original, but the U.S. view of Christmas looks like the northeast or Midwest where it snows a lot.

The Bellagio might be the best decorated for Christmas, starting with it's atrium all done up. One year it was decorated by Martha Stewart.

Individual homes and neighborhoods in the Valley can make a Chevy Chase movie look like an amateur production. Las Vegans get carried away on decorating for about any holiday, and the 4th of July makes the whole city look like a war is going on. My daughter has won both the Halloween and the Christmas decorating contests in her NLV neighborhood.

In my old neighborhood, the entire street was decorated. There were two houses that were not decorated only becasue they were forclosures.

There's a house in my neighborhood that makes Chevy Chase's house in Christmas Vacation look lame. I marvel at it every year.

There's rarely snow, but you can still get that Christmas time vibe...particularly if you go to one of the shopping venues.

Been there at Christmas time. Even if it looks like Christmas, it sure as hell don't feel like it.
