Hello Everyone:

I have been a faithful reader of the Las Vegas forum, and most everyone recommends that we purchase a condo located NORTH OF CHEYENNE.

So, here's our problem:

We've located a condo just 3 blocks SOUTH of Cheyenne Plaza (on Country Manor Lane).....

will this be a safe area for us?

Our kids are grown; we would use it as a secondary Winter Home.

Thanks so much for your help,

Regards

PatriciaCanadian

Welcome to Jeopardy! I'm Alex Trebek, these are our contestants, and here is the first answer:

"Herpes, Bedbugs, and a Las Vegas Condo"

What are three things you can't get rid of?

Correct!

I'll take Potent Potables for $200, please...

etc.

The suggestion is north of Craig and west of 15. You are south of Craig (and Cheyenne) and east of 15.

Older complex low rents close enough to the fun areas to hear gun shots.

Not normally the place where you would buy a second home.

Default Yikes, is that a no???

Hello again:

Yes, ScoopLV I read your reply ..... and I'm sorry, this old, over the hill
gal didn't quite understand....

Are you saying NO to the area?

Or, are you saying no because it's hard to re-sell?

(we're not really worried about the re-sale value)

I'll try once again, if you could be blunt with this old gal, it would be
much appreciated.

Thanks again,

PatriciaCanadian

Default Thanks Olecapt, now I get it....

Hi Olecapt:

Yes, now I understand the recommendation....(North of Craig; West of I 15)

looks like this Condo will be a miss for us.

Thanks for your input,

Regards,

PatriciaCanadian

Re: Jeopardy joke

I'm saying if you buy a condo -- any condo -- in Las Vegas, prepare to hold on to it for a very, very long time. If the HOA forbids renting it out, make sure your heirs know how to refuse the inheritance.

Actually no. Condos sell quite well even if not rentable. The need to be priced right but sometimes that is better than you would think.

I have a set of clients trying right now to buy second home condos and finding it reasonably difficult. Check low end condos in Mar-a-lago for instance....
