My family will be moving to Vegas in a year. Can anyone tell me what the best Catholic schools(K-8) are in the area? Most of the posts are pretty old on here. Thanks for your help.

Let me google that for you (http://tinyurl.com/3n26agh - broken link)

Not much to choose from. Our Realtor told us that Our Lady of Las Vegas is a good one.

Is there that large of Catholic population in LV?

Addendum: nevermind, just looked it up on City-Data's own profile for Clark County. 48.5% (of the 36.25% percent of population affiliated with a religious congregation)...are Catholic...which is the largest single represented group.

You couldn't tell by the amount of churches and schools IMO.

Don't know what area you're moving to and I don't have any personal knowledge (all our children are in their 40's now), but St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on Pueblo Vista Drive in zip code 89128 is a huge parish with a school - you could check their website and maybe google them to see if there are any helpful reviews on the web.

Hope that helps a little - good luck and welcome.
Pam

One would expect THAT with the LARGE membership that we USED to have in the

Mothers And Fathers Itialian Association.

one of the worlds largest fraternal organizations.

Does it have to be Catholic, or are you open to other Christian denominations?

There are only a few Catholic schools (I've heard good things about St Elizabeth Ann Seton). But you'll have more options if you look at other Christian denominations. In addition to the few Catholic schools mentioned, there's Calvary Chapel Christian School and Mountain View Christian School, which I believe are both protestant.

Thanks to all of you who responded. Yes, it does need to be a Catholic school. Our goal is to attend Bishop Gorman for HS. We have narrowed our options down to Our Lady of Las Vegas, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, and St. Viator. If anyone out there has first-hand knowledge about any of these schools, PLEASE reply. Thanks and God bless...
