you have to realize, since the rj/sun won't tell you, that these numbers are compared against the previous year, which are off years since the recession. when was the last normal year? you will NEVER see them compare the numbers against a normal / prerecession year.

f.2, the numbers are used to develop a trend. Y-o-Y is a very standard way of doing that since month-to-month doesn't take seasonal factors into consideration. It's good news, you can't slam these numbers... they definitely show improvement.

If those numbers hold up then we might have more for the year than we've ever had wouldn't we? I don't recall having more than 40 million in a year, but I could be wrong. Question is, do they have any money to spend?

Yes, we have lots of foreigners flying in laughing at how pathetic the American dollar is. Good for Vegas but perhaps another story for the country as a whole.

Seriously? Everyone talks about the 2000-2007 visitor numbers as if they were double or triple what we're getting now or something. ... According to this (http://www.lvcva.com/getfile/80/Historical%201970%20to%202010.pdf - broken link) anyway (if you have a better source, please post it), the high year was 2007 with 39,196,761 visitors, and the low was 2009 with 36,351,469.

That's a peak-to-trough drop of 7.2%, a bunch of which we've recovered already. Yeah, 7.2% is meaningful, but you say we'll "NEVER" see comparable numbers again? C'mon, man. Quit being so sensationalist and undisciplined.
