Love a golf school at the Falls, but who is going to pay the rabbit-out-of-hat cost to renovate the driving range. I have attended other golf schools and the Fall Course needs more than a simple driving range.....putting, sand traps, etc.

This past weekend, I met friends who were golfing at Reflection Bay Golf Course for drinks after their game.

All I can say is WOW!!!! The renovations are suberb!! They went with a little less of an Italy Tuscan theme and blended it with modern desert feel. I felt like I stepped into Beverly Hills or Palm Springs. I love it and can't wait to host a party there! The view is the best in Lake Las Vegas. I didn't have any meals there, but they looked wonderful. They are open for breakfast and lunch right now and dinner in the future.

When I pulled in to the parking lot, the staff bent over backwards to see if I was golfing and if they could give me a ride in the cart. I thought that was fantastic. The parking lot was full and golfers were everywhere!!!

Speaking of desert modern, I stopped in to the new William Lyons sales office in RB club house. Wow! This is going to be THE hottest new neighborhood in ALL of Las Vegas. The design is abit of the Palm Spring/Desert modern look. Gorgeous homes, low density and they have their own beach club! Imagine being able to hang out on your own white sand beach, go out for a kayak or stand up paddling, with storage on the beach, from where you live? This is the kind of forsight that Lake Las Vegas should have and moving the community forward! The homes are about 5k square feet. No pricing yet, but probably in the 800s? maybe as a guess?

I also wonder if William Lyons is going to be the builder in the former Upper Falls Golf course as Raintree/Paulson bought alot of that property and has ties with William Lyons?

The best is truly yet to come for Lake Las Vegas!

One would think that people living at Lake Las Vegas are obsessed with golf.

Unfortunately, until the village gets occupied, there aren't a whole lotta other options... I like the little area out there, but, as a non-golfer, there's not much for me to do other than drive around and look at the big houses..

I'm not a golfer. But, I like the aesthetics of the golf course!

The village will come. Raintree/Paulson isn't going through all of this trouble with LLV to not have the village and casino as the main draw for Phase 2 and Phase 3. It's the main jewel of the community, the gathering place. I imagine he will at least artifically fill the village with tenants (ie higher end/profile stores/shops - maybe rent free) to get the buzz going again. If you visited the village in circa 2005 and 2006, it was amazing.

I certainly hope and I will also convey this to the City of Henderson and Cody Winterton that LLV also should be the biking gateway to Lake Mead. The trails are amazing. But, there are no places to rent bikes in LLV. I think it would be totally awesome to rent a bike, hope on a trail and ride. So would hotel guests and visitors who don't want to schlep a bike with them.

As a horseman, I spend alot of time at Southpoint Equestrian Center and Casino etc. They have EVERYTHING there. All kinds of restaurants, casino, hotel, spa, movie theatre, shows, shopping. Once you arrive, there is no reason to leave. There was a concern about them being so far south of the strip, but it's a great place to be and they are thriving. Why can't Lake Las Vegas do the same thing, but the main them being golfing and lake activities? Have water taxis on the lake between the village and hotels- all in a beautiful place! Not in the middle of a parking lot.

As residents of LLV, I think we should all let the LLV Master or Cody Winterton or the city know what things we'd like in our community. Either post them here or contact them directly.

Just heard that Bernard's Bistro has closed and is in the process of moving out. What a shame. Great food.

It's ironic, as things in Lake Las Vegas start looking up, things in the village are crumbling. Wish the owner of the village would just go belly up instead of slowly driving the shops and restaurants away.

Apparently Bernards violated a non-compete clause in his lease for opening another restauarant too close to Lake Las Vegas. I agree. Great food. He was always busy and I loved going there.

Yes, it's odd that the village was doing better during the bad economy than it is now, when everything else is positive.

Paulson? Raintree? Please buy the village from Signal Butte, they are making a mess out of the village or simply don't care. It almost seems like Signal Butte is doing it on purpose? Maybe because of the litigation with the HOAs? Always seems like someone is poking their stick at someone.

The story I've heard is that Signal Butte is trying to collect as much cash as they can from the shop and restaurant owners before they declare bankruptcy. Just file and go away. Leave it to someone who cares what happens to the village.

From what I've heard, many of the restaurants are doing better now than they've done in many years. It's Signal Butte bringing the hammer down that's causing these closures.

Was out there last night at the village to eat, and there are problems. It has gotten worse in the last couple years (we come out 1-2 times a month), and talking to an establishment owner confirms that the village is in bad shape. Of course, one only need look at the shops that have closed over the last year or so.

As for Bernards, its tough to see them go as they seemed to be a barometer of the financial health of the village. But, there was also some issues with lease rate and payments that contributed to their shuttering.

Clearly, the village has little appeal to locals, outside of LLV residents. If it did, the locals would help support it. We enjoy coming out, but are only 5 miles away. How will LLV attract visitors from the greater LV valley? Tough question to answer, but without local traffic, the village cannot be sustained--there just isnt enough tourist traffic to make it vibrant.

FWIW, the heavy handed and inconsistent way in which visitors were treated during the free music nights at the lake in 2013 alienated a lot of locals. I have talked to many who wil never visit LLV again because of it. There were more people upset about the policy last summer as well, but at least it didnt change from week to week, and security team were congenial about enforcing the rules.

But, the village manager didnt understand that you dont bite the hand that feeds you. LLV is suffering directly from those efforts, and now paying the price.
