Rather than b*tch about the doom and gloomers, let's do something to combat their negative energy. A running thread. How to live the good life in Las Vegas:

1) Do your homework before buying a house. Where you live is a HUGE factor in how much you enjoy Vegas.

2) Shop at the Mexican and Asian grocery stores. They cost 20% of the "white" grocery stores. Think of what you'd do if you were saving 80% on groceries every week. (Note -- if you live on a diet of Hot Pockets and frozen pizza, #2 does not apply.)

3) There are currently government rebates to have additional insulation sprayed in your attic. Make use of that, today. Good insulation can halve your electricity bill in the summer, and halve your gas bill in the winter. (Although, the gas bill in the winter is no big deal.)

4) If you're into concerts, make an account with Ticketmaster. After you've purchased 20 or so tickets, you'll get emails allowing you to buy tickets before they go on sale to the general public. Thanks to this, I am always at the front row, and tickets in Vegas are CHEAP compared to the rest of the country.

5) There is a website called restaurants.com -- you can save 80% of the cost of dining out at a couple hundred Vegas restaurants using this site.

6) Know anyone that works for MGM International? They can hook up friends and family (basically ANYONE) with cheap hotel rooms at MGM properties.

7) Sick of the heat? Head up to Mt. Charleston for the day. The resort is a comfortable place to quaff a beer, but there's campsites aplenty. We just pull into an empty campsite for a few hours and have a picnic. It's not allowed, but nobody seems to care.

8) Casino loyalty cards are GREAT to have, but don't go and get ALL of them at once. The casinos will often run sign-up bonuses for new members. Wait 'till the casinos are offering something good -- free play, free buffet, etc. -- THEN sign up.

OK, there's 8 ideas. keep 'em coming

Hardly. It's not even a made in America store anymore. Although Wal-Mart will price match any ad's from other stores so all that cheap produce from the mexican grocery stores can still be had there.

9) Do not gamble. Unless, of course, you like to gamble. In that case, do not gamble too much! Unless, of course, you really like to gamble alot. In that case....oh.....just have fun!!

10. Get in the habit of drinking lots of water, and invest in a good lotion. The desert is dry, so you'll want to be prepared.

11) Las Vegas water SUCKS. Seriously, there's uranium, radium, tritium and all sorts of "iums" in the water. A whole-house reverse osmosis system costs $5,000. But compare that to chemotherapy, and the price is well worth it. I wouldn't even brush my teeth with Vegas water. Let alone drink the stuff.

You're forgetting Fluoride. But that's not just Las Vegas. Not many people realize the Fluoride in drinking water is actually a toxic waste product and was used as cockroach poison for years before being marketed in toothpaste and injected into drinking water. It has also been well noted that the Nazis gave the prisoners Fluoride to keep them docile. I'll let you draw your own conclusions from that. And no, I'm not a conspiracy theorist. It's all out there if you want to look.
