This is from the POV, of someone who had to get "down 'n durty" working in this city 2-3 months out of the year.
Granted, I basically lived out of hotel rooms, ate at some of the best restaurants (so I thought anyway) and primarily worked in the convention centers and hotels (trade shows), but I'd never worked so hard in my life, and I could still have a great time, and got to see alot of great shows, alot of great bands, alot of wonderful art & imagery, and meet alot of entertaining people.
YES, it gets hot as hell. YES, you can be freezing @ 5AM, and frying by 11. YES, your skin will dry out, so beter wear alot of moisturizer. YES, the attendees and alot of the tourists will take license and possibly mistreat us workers who are only trying to make a living and pay the bills.
I still loved my time there, and hope to return some day soon!
