What sticks with me most about Papa Gar's was the chunk of meat wrapped in chains slowly spinning in its own reward. Good stuff.

Is the Circus Room downtown gone? Scary place but some of the best Chili dogs in the world.

Also The Wienie Bender (no joke) where the black roofed Philly steak place is on Decatur and Alta, 25 cent mini-burgers/hotdogs/ corn dogs and burritos. $5 would buy you a grocery bag full!

Not your standard mom and pop establishment but occasionally Dan'n I'd get a wild hair and head out here and buy drink tokens; had too, they didn't accept cash, only tokens. Had a ball shootin' pool with the hired help on a slow night...

If you didn't mind the flies it was one of the few places we had for lunch when Ch 3 was on Boulder Hiway and DI.
Fremont. I've been trying to remember the name, no go. If I've time today I'll drive down there and shoot some pics. It might have been razed, there's a couple of large lots near there. Stay tuned...

Was it on the opposite corner of 14th or 15th from that old drugstore?

BTW: One of the best family restaurants in Nevada was at the Ho'house at Ash Meadows. They had one of the first air strips for a brothel in Nevada too.

Project's done for the day, stucco tomorrow.

I'm on my way, camera in hand. This is my first 'hood, bought over on 21st and Stewart in early '77. I'll snap a few more while I'm there.
