Ever since we began dipping into Las Vegas real estate almost two years ago, we have frequently received annoying yellow cards. These are 5"x8" "official notice of public hearing" from Dept of Comprehensive Planning Land Use Planning. We receive these about once a week and ends up in the round file. Mostly for trivial or stupid requests like placement of trees, or putting signs on adjacent properties, or revising streets, etc. However, what is new over the past month or so, are proposals for larger scale construction such as 16 floor apartment buildings, or 20 floor office building, and now a new 40 story, 2.8 mil sf, 2402 room resort hotel. Will these projects come to fruition? Maybe or maybe not, but what is interesting is that there seems to be a changing of attitude. Has anybody else noticed this as well?
