so it looks like after october 31st I'm going to have to file for unemployment

does anybody know how much unemployment will receive or how it is calculated?, if I could just get a part time job and partial unemployment I would be okay. I need to bring home at least 1200 dollars a month after taxes in order to survive

Since things have become more high tech at ESD, you might be able to get that info on line, although I'm not sure how they would handle the confidentiality issues. Usually you just have to file to find out anything.

You can roughly figure it out though. It is based on your earnings in the first four of the last five quarters, not counting this one, and you had to have had earnings in at least three of the four quarters, and one had to be at least $400 minimum so I'm sure you've got more than that. It's possible to be eligible with wages in only two quarters of the base period, but I don't think that applies to your situation, but I'll explain it if you need to know. Employment Security Division Unemployment Eligibility Page

The weekly benefit is somewhere around a maximum of $393 or $396, something like that. It usually goes up a little every year. To be eligible for the maximum weekly benefit, you would have had to have earned in at least one of the four quarters, about $9825. So you won't know exactly what you made per quarter unless you're the bookkeeper, but you can estimate it, then divide the highest quarter earnings by 25 to get the weekly amount. http://www.nvdetr.org/ESD%20Pages/ES...s_Handbook.pdf

I don't remember when you started working in Nevada. If it wasn't before last April, I believe you could have a combined wage claim with Florida which might add a few bucks to your Nevada claim. Be sure to let them know so they can estimate that.

You're going to have to? I hope you're getting prepared for something else. Hell, I've even been making a few hundred a month doing various things online that require very little of my time. All in all while I believe you could end up getting unemployment I don't believe it would equal out to enough to the amount you need per month here.
