What would be most practical for Greater Las Vegas? Light rail, metro/subway, commuter rail, and/or tram/trolley/streetcar?

IMO Las Vegas needs an underground metro to connect it to places like Spring Valley and Henderson and a commuter rail system to extend to exurbs like Pahrump, Boulder City, St George, and more.

What do you think?

This city, with it disproportiante number of impractical people, has a history of looking no furthur than today. You'd first have to sit down and explain to them what practical means!

The police "tax collectors" wouldn't vote for any of the above, or those working for the lucarative traffic court in downtown Las Vegas.

What's car dependency/slavery all about? Saving/creating jobs!

I think light rail in Las Vegas can be very successful but the taxi companies won't like it.

-Cheers.

That would be very convenient to have a faster alternative commute to these areas. Especially Pahrump and St. George.

This thread could be merged with the other fifteen like it and a newcomer would just think they were in one big train wet dream thread.

And one of the things we really need is a big growth spurt in Pahrump....where the water table already falls two feet a year do to overpumping.

What would be most practical?? Try "none of the above"!

An underground metro to Spring Valley and Henderson?? Are you delusional from drug use or are you joking??? Wow..

You might want to check back on this in about 500 years.

With zero population density and a disjointed financial center at best. Not to mention layers of hard rock under the desert floor, you'd be better off taking the hundreds of billions this would cost and just mailing checks to people.

This thread is not much different from the discussion in this one, which the OP started a few months ago:

//www.city-data.com/forum/las-v...nsit-poll.html

To even suggest that ANYTHING be built underground in a place like LV is ridiculous.
