I'm paying 6.5 cents -- time of use plan.

To the OP. a lot of really good things said above.

Just to add in case I missed it.
Credit cards are evil. They are NOT a safety net. Not implying anything...just relaying some bad decisions I made in the past.
Unfortunately in college I thought i "needed" to use them, really only occasionally, but could not at all afford to pay them down/off...and this will stick with you and is like carrying a 100lb ball and chain!

A lot of "well earning people" also have substantial debt in student loans as well. Not all... But a lot do.

Really try, if you can, to not concern yourself with labels or titles, or some "definition" or worth or SES.
If you are comfortable then you ARE comfortable!
What are your priorities? Kids, self, spouse, savings, partying?? This will all play into it.
Realistically SES is like a snowflake.
