If it wasn't for the Californians Las Vegas would resemble Baker, CA.

-Cheers.

PS. Let me guess. You are trying to buy a cheap house in Las Vegas and the California investors are out bidding you big time????

Reading the original post, I'm thinking "is this guy kidding" but then I read some of his others, and realize he's not. I just moved here from California for a lot of reasons, most of which are medical, but as my wife and I get closer to retirement, we realized we can't afford to retire in California unless we want to live on ramen and cat food. I'm sure that if he were in the same boat, he would do the same thing and would want to be welcomed as a fellow US citizen, and not talked about like someone with the plague. I'm bringing my money here to spend and help build up the Vegas economy and try to make all of our lives better. One of the posters mentioned the NW (Oregon/Wash) and I remember when they had bumper stickers that said "Don't Californicate Oregon". Nice. Well, life goes on people. Deal with it or move to North Dakota. I hear there are lots of jobs there and unemployment is low. I'm here and not leaving.

Whether the OP was kidding or not there is a strong anti-California (usually spelled with a K) sentiment here in Las Vegas and it makes no sense. Look at half the cars in any casino parking lot on the weekends, they have CA plates.

It's NEVADA that advertises heavily in CA trying to lure businesses here, not the other way around.

Thanks a lot everyone. I have wanted to move an retire in Las Vegas since the early 2000's nothing to do with the present situation.

Is it Ok if I just live in Ca right now but wasn't born here?

Can I please get a gold key?

Actually now that I think about it..........I hate the people in Ca too

OK.....for all of you that are Konfused and got all rankled because of Eventrumplestiltskinisters attempt at humor....

Here's the STRAIGHT stuff......

#1 We do NOT hate Californians. [defined as those people that are from CALIFORNIA and love to come over here to the US [Nevada] and gamble and play and then go home.
#2 We DO hate those Kalifornians that whimper and whine because Kalifornia is so expensive and is soo restrictive and has all those Nanny laws so they move here and pay twice what a house is worth and then clump up together and say "Well In KALIFORNIA we do it this way" and then press to enact laws to make Nevada a nanny state like Kalifornia.
