The wife and I go to Vegas every January during the NFL playoffs. It's a blast being there at that time when one can place a bet on the NFL games/watch the games during the afternoon, then play a little Black Jack, all in the same trip while enjoying the Vegas Night Life.
Trouble is it's hard finding a place with a real "spors bar" atmosphere (you know - laid back with everybody routing for their own team), as you watch the game from several big TV sets. Use to go to that place on the ground flore at Harrahs, but they no longer have that setup. I like The Mirage and Treasure Island hotels a lot, but they really don't have that kind of club. Even checked with the Concierge @ Ballazios, but they don't seem to cater to that scene ? No surprise I guess.

That's probably a crowd that's a bit too young for us, but I appreciate the thought.

You know I'm sure there'd be places locally, but we really like it on the Strip.

Come that time of year, almost every TV is showing the playoff games. Im not sure what you mean by sports bar??? Considering the nature of the town, you wont find the home town crowd that you find at a Pittsburgh Buffalo Wild Wings. Youll find people cheering at that last second field goal because they won the over/under or just barely covered the spread. The local places offer more of what you are looking for even though you alluded to wanting to stay on the Strip. The Orleans, Boulder Station and even the Eastside Cannery are great.

What you describe is very common at the locals casinos. On the strip it will be hard to find a lounge like I think you are looking to go to. You could go to Hooter's, if the wife vetoes that there is a locals lounge across from there called BJ's. I cannot picture any casinos that have a lounge around the bar like I think you are looking for.

The Sporting House (formerly ESPN Zone) at NYNY. No other place even comes close out here in my opinion.
