You've hit the nail on the head. Most buffet food comes out of a box.

The one major exception is Sterling Brunch at Bally's -- but the $85 price tag scares most locals away. (It shouldn't. It's worth every penny.)

Some of the Stations buffets are ok. Aliante, Texas, Red Rock, Santa Fe. Palace station totally sucks! Too much old greasy salty crap they call food. Excaliber sucked the one and only time we tried it. Only because guests stayed there and wanted to eat there. *barf*

Gold Coast is great now that they improved it. The old one was terrible!
The Carnival world buffet at the Rio is good. Especially with locals discounts.
I think it's an individual thing. Some people love buffets I hate. And some people hate the buffets I like.

Rave would definitely be the M. Taking my girlfriend there this Saturday. We like the Wynn too.

I hate to say it but the Red Rock would be my rant. You never know what you are going to get. When it's good, it's really good. Unfortunately when it's bad, it's terrible. The service is kind of hit and miss too. I stopped going there altogether and it's only 4 miles from my house.

What service do you require from a buffet? A hostess sits you down and a waitperson takes your plates away and replaces them. Some of the cheap ones about town have the fountain drinks available for self service. I think its impossible to get bad service at a buffet.

Coming from a person who likes CiCi's pizza or basically any cheap buffet is there really a bad buffet? When you can pay a fee and not have to cook or clean up and eat all you want it can't be all that bad.
it's like the age old question. Is there really any such thing as bad _______? The men can fill in the blank. So find a buffet and sit down and eat...

When I move to Vegas I'm going to make it a mission to wreck a few buffets. Step away from the prime rib.
