Don't know if this belongs in Gardening or if here is OK, but newbies and oldies ask a lot of questions on here about landscaping. You need to start reading Linn Mills' column, or go over to the Springs Preserve and talk to him. If you are planning to move here, leave most of your gardening ideas on the east side of the mighty Mississip.

Thanks for this link! Was trying to find out what grass I have from my landlord to make sure nothing happens to it over the winter, but they don't know the type of grass

This was the kind of stuff I needed to know

If it turns brown in the next 6 weeks it is bermuda. If it doesn't it is likely a fescue or some such. The fescues just need a little fertilizer now and a little water each week through to the heat comes back. Then they need lots of water. You can ignore Bermuda until spring. If you wish you can overseed it with rye...but that takes a bit of doing. Nicest looking lawn you ever saw though. That is what golf courses often do.

Thank you. It has started to brown. Not all of it just speckled with brown. Was a little worried which prompted me to ask the landlord. I appreciate the help!
