OKAY, I shouldn't tell this story, but it wasn't me that said these things. I'm just reporting it, so here's a little background. And I know it has nothing to do with dull moments in LV.
Back in olden days, as my kid likes to call them, when I was a teenager this happened. West Virginia has very few people of the African-American persuasion, but a lot of people of the Italian persuasion. When I was growing up Italians suffered a lot of prejudicial abuse from the "Americans", as they called us WASPs. (Actually, I've been Italian for about six months now, since I found out my great-great-great grandpa was from Italy). Since we had so few black people, if you had a black friend you showed him off. But still, both black people and Italians were at least insulted all the time by by our condecending ignorance and exclusion, although African-Americans weren't treated bad like they were down south.
Anywho, with that setting in mind, and to make a long story subject to all kinds of later attacks and accusations about racism, etc., I'll chance it.
One of our Italian cops who was always clowning around was talking to a black guy that he always kidded with, and he said to the guy, "They outta put all you n****s on a boat back to Africa. And the black guy, without hesitation, came back with, "Yeah, and with a da*o under each arm." Bah dum dum.
Well, you're not laughing so ya just hadda be there. And it would help if you knew these two clowns.
