I'm with Scoop on this. Wash your hands all the time! Any time you are out in public, touching door handles, things in the store, etc, wash your hands thoroughly up to the wrist in warm soapy water before you touch your face. You do not need antibacterial soaps, regular soaps work fine, liquid or bar.

Those flu shots have more than just mercury in them. Take it at your own risk.

I have a light cold or something so does my daughter. Nothing too bad but I hate the scratchy/watery throat more than anything.

One of the best things ever for a sore/scratchy throat is a teaspoon of honey. Repeat whenever needed. And no side effects.

...And especially slot machines! I've witnessed someone sneeze into their hands then press keys on the machine with the fingers from the hand that they just sneezed into!

Actually I carry a small (travel size) of antibacterial cleaner on me in the casino...and use it right after I get off each machine.

Single-dose flu shots do NOT contain Thimerosal (which contains a little bit of mercury).

It's only the multi-dose shots that are loaded into an air-gun (and injected mostly into the military) that contain Thimerosal.

Face it. Every medical doctor in North America recommends an annual flu shot. So go get one, and quit worrying.

Same here. Its not by choice either. If I didn't have to then I probably wouldn't. But at least I don't get sick.

Does the military literally force you to get the vaccine? There is no way out?

Does going to see a doctor help after you get sick? What's generally the best think to help recover after you are sick? I've just been taking OTC stuff.
