Back in Denver, there are 3 topless car washes, and they are all wildly popular. (Well, they were before I left 5 years ago lol).

Out here, there is maybe 1, that a strip club will do only on Fridays. There are no topless hair cutting places (But there has been in the past). You can get a topless maid to clean your house, but they are usually independent girls just wanting to make extra cash.....

One would think that if you wanted some everyday task done for you by a topless women, that Las Vegas would be the place to go...but it ain't.
Visitors believe what is only implied in our advertising, but the reality is that Las Vegans, in some ways, are actually kind of straight-laced, especially the politicians that make the laws. But I think that if someone wants their car washed they don't want to hang there all day and look at boo bees. Besides they'll avoid the everyday places that make them think they'll have to tip more. It might be an attraction for some New Jersey gamblers on a wild weekend trip, but locals are the ones you have to appeal to to survive, unless you're business is in the resort corridor.

My guess is because more "options" are legal, not too far from there.

I understand that most tourists come in on the plane, and just don't have cars to wash.... But the strip clubs have to be doing good business, right? I mean, they wouldn't be on every block if no one went?

I do agree that locals that have been here a while aren't "swayed by the Vegas lifestyle". We do tend to be more reserved. But the way strip clubs do business, I'm surprised that other "adult" places don't do well just on tourist dollars alone.

Maybe its a problem from the other end (PUNNY!)? If you're attractive enough to be topless, why would you cut hair, or wash cars, when you could make 10x the money hanging from a pole?...... The problem is the topless themed places cannot find enough employees?

I'm convinced that's why Hooters restaurants never work here. If a girl is hot enough to work Hooters, then she's just a white shirt, and shorty shorts away from making 100x the cash. Why waste time working for $2 tips, serving chicken wings?

No pics please. My "eye bleach" budget is already used up for the month.

Good point. When is the last time a strip club went out of business in Vegas?

No capital? He could maybe try selling vacuums, bug spray, or window cleaner door to door. Otherwise, in this economic climate you won't find a businesses investor that will front 100%, even if you developed a solid business plan that didn't hinge solely on one person's ability to sell.

Maybe not 100% but 60-75% is possible. Up to 90% could also happen with a little creative financing which is done all the time. That's what I had to do.

If I recall correctly, the kid in question has a felony conviction. I doubt there will be much creative financing, or financing of any kind.

He's going to need something that can be started on a shoestring.

Here are Ideas I had about ways to make money in Vegas;

1) Selling CD's of the Music featured at the Bellagio fountains to the tourists for $20

2) Building a Theme Restaurant (may happen one day, who knows )

3) Having a good camera and decent photo quality printer, and taking pictures at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign (I seen people hanging around, using peoples camera's taking pics and hustling tips)

4) Zoltar

Jonathan
