I may get employment in the Las Vegas area. My plan is to eventually purchase a house. I was thinking of renting an apartment until I get stable and finish my job probation. Does anybody know of nice apartments in the Summerlin or Anthem area? Looking for studio or 1 bedroom.

There are many, too many to really provide you with much help unless we know more. Do you need to be very close to public transportation? The 215? What is your max budget per month? Pets? We found a nearly new (many complexes are just a few years old) for under 800/month. It is 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms.

Job would be in Henderson. Since this is a temp situation (maybe a yr), I would be fine with a studio/1 bed. No pets. I have my own vehicle. Would like to stay under $1,000 since I would be keeping my apt in CA. Maybe the question should be which apt complexes should I stay a way from.

So you will work in Henderson and want to live in Summerlin?

Have you read any of the other threads?

Yes, The job would be in the City of Henderson. This is why I was thinking of Anthem/7 Hills area. Of course, I fell in love with the Summerlin area too. If it matters, I would be leaving the Orange County, CA traffic. Currently, 30 to 45 min to drive 14 miles on 1 freeway. 20 minutes on a good day with no accidents or police writting a ticket.

My recommendation would be to always use google and apartmentratings to read the reviews about the apartment. I screwed up and did not do this because I did not think they had this for apartments, and only hotels/motels. You can quickly read if there are a ton of negative reviews, and see what kind of problems they have at the place.

For example, take a look at the reviews of this one place I was considering. After reading this, no thankyou.

The only thing about Apartment Ratings is that some of the places, (not the one above though) can get a bad rap only because the tenant was a bad tenant, didn't follow rules, or was a general pain in the butt. And some people have nothing better to do than to write bad reviews of every single place when they know nothing about it.
You have to make up your own mind. Check out the place if you can before renting. Check during the day, evening, nights, weekends. Talk to people who live there. Office staff will be biased. They will tell you what you want to hear, not necessarily the truth.
