If actually suitable for your performance criteria (and stating the obvious) . . loosing a Craigslist used China 50cc scooter is MUCH less financially painful than loosing a more expensive "name brand" scooter.
I doubt freon would do. It's not cold enough to make metal brittle.

Liquid nitrogen is a different story in how cold it is, but most of the coolants have a very low boiling point.

Even worse I bet is losing your scooter to a thief.
So maybe get a Segway like macgeek uses, and hopefully take it into the store with you. But I bet you can't do that either.

We had an incident a long time ago on Craig Rd/I-15, but it involved a couple of rednecks in a white pickup. We had gotten a flat tire on our car after dark one night, coming back from Primm, and we were trying to fix it, when they started yelling obscenities at us, and they were stuck in traffic, inching closer to the left turn lane. Fortunately that night there was a lot of traffic work, so by the time they did make it to the light to turn, we finally got the tire on and sped off before they could get us.
I really don't know what's wrong with some people.

I got me a little Vespa.

Rode them when I was in italy and loved the little things. Vespa is a nice brand, Mine cost thousands, much different than the Chinese crap most people push around.

I drive it around my area, love that thing. I can see why Bikers like their Harleys. My Vespa is actually tagged and insured, you can get them tagged and insured very cheaply.
