Starting a new business, and I need a talented graphic designer for my logo. I have already sketched out the idea of what I want, just need someone to tweak it so it looks professional. Anyone? (Not sure I want to do the online thing either, already checked them out, not liking the idea. So please don't suggest that) Thanks!

My son is a graphics student - PM me if you want, I'm sure he'd take a hack at it.

Default logo

Logo's are a whole different animal than other types of art....even for a small business you should expect to be paying $1-5k minimum!

I can always tell when an amateur did a logo...

Of course most people don't really value artistic talent as much as they should...many artists themselves are guilty of that.

...And then there's the myth of "It'll be good exposure" for you! ..Um, no it's not!

Depends on what the campany's logo is trying to represent. Some logos are very basic like "facebook"...all lowercase letters with whatever font that is. The logo sign is a lower case "f" incased in a blue square, was a circle at one point, then went to a 3D rectangle, now back to a simple light blue square. I think they went through trial and error till they got it right. They went for simplicity.

Apple on the other hand...I can see them paying thousands for what they were trying to accomplish.

The whole point of simplicity or making something look simple/easy is the talent and experience behind it. That talent has value.

Since This was someone asking for a logo, at little or no money, anyone with a inkling of talent could accommodate, I don't think the project was designing the next SONY logo.
