Plus as a few previous poster's mentioned, we do get some snow here a few days over the winter. Best places for it are Summerlin of course.
My husband and I were actually at Mt. Charleston in March when we were out there visiting his 2 sisters who live in Summerlin. At the time, Vegas was having some record March temperates, and it was 95 degrees. Pretty wild driving just a little bit and seeing people skiing! Meanwhile, we were having a major snowstorm back home - over 2 feet of snow.

I'm not sure that my kids will miss the snow, just the days off they get when the schools close because of it!!!

We moved here about three weeks ago from Alabama due to my husband's new job at a structural engineering firm here. We debated the move for about a week, but the money was so much better here and the projects were, well let's just say he gets to work on the major hotel/casino's as opposed to parking decks...
It's been an exciting 3 weeks and the newness still hasn't worn off. I am surprised by the area I am living in, sw around Robindale. I realized it was a "new" area, but I didn't realize how new, so much construction. We aren't far from the strip at all, I'm just suprised it has taken this long to bring neighborhoods over here.

I moved to Las Vegas in 2003 for job-related reasons. I really love it here. I have absolutely no complaints or regrets. For me, the area offers everything that I want.

I see a real trend that Las Vegas is really booming when it comes to job growth. I see a lot of people moving because of the jobs that are offered and the oportunities it makes for a lot of families. I'm so glad people are doing well and enjoying their new home! I know i'm blessed.. all I hear from friends and family back in California is Lay offs, pay cuts, not enough jobs and high cost of living.

Exactly, my idea of a snowy winter is inches of the stuff. Only to be salted by the county and mushed up and become a disgusting slippery mess. Unless LV has a tendency to have days where the high is in the single digits and the ground is frozen like a rock, I'm good.

Occasional snow and rain will remind me of home.
