Hey all!

Well, summer will be here before we know it and I'm contemplating getting a pool installed in my backyard.

What are important things to know about having a swimming pool in Vegas?

Should I do it??

Thanks!

That is a EXPENSIVE thought, I have a pool, and I did the math, It costs me about $300 per swim

Maybe once I am living here full time, the bang per buck will get better!

a pool seems to have the same usage formula as a boat.....once a day for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year then once a year after that.

Yep. Reminds me of something my dad once told me: "The happiest day of my life, other than the day I bought my boat, was the day I sold my boat."

$300 per swim?! Yikes!

I guess I'll be better off getting a season pass for the family @ Knott's Soak City, huh?

OK we now return you to the thread..
a good size pool will run you about 20K (?) more? to install
it runs you about $100 a month to keep it maintained.
water evaporates in Las Vegas at a good rate, so you need to keep it filled (water bills)
You need to keep it cleaned, and get a solar cover for it..

There are DOZENS of Great threads on here dealing with pools in Vegas, The search tool IS your friend.

Mac is QUITE adept at bringing threads back on topic....

I do totally agree with his posts RE the cost......and I guess it's a matter of personal cherce....I would vote no and use the left over $$$ for a cold beer or three.
