This isn't an either/or problem. It's not like you have to shop at Whole Foods to avoid eating unwholesome meat. We get the bulk of our groceries through co-ops, thus spending less than most grocery stores. We also buy produce from Gilcrease Orchard and grow some, too.

And it's hardly paranoia. This is well-documented, verifiable information that anyone can double-check should they decide to pay attention to what they eat.

Just got the first circular for Winco. $1.60 for bacon, $3.98/case Pepsi products, and whole chicken .69 per lb. That's just what I noticed at a glance, I'm sure there will be other good buys as well. Coupons are good thru the 11th.

You know that bumper sticker, "If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention?" This describes the food industry perfectly. As a nation, we should quit fixating on low prices, pull back the curtain, and see this ugly, dangerous industry for what it is.
Okay, we get it, you have a problem with how meat is prepared and packaged.

So now realize we are ignoring your protests and will most likely still buy this food no matter what you say.

And we'll live to tell about it too, lol

Food 4 Less, Smiths, Vons, Wallyworld (no meat or produce), Albertsons, Costco, Sams Club, Glaziers, Cardena's, my usual hangouts for groceries. Will probably be adding Winco to the lineup, too

I also like the Farmers Market at Bruce Trent park on Wednesdays, I can get some pretty nice produce and baked goods there when I go.

I hope they mail out the circulars... We do not have the RJ anymore and really don't want to have to buy one just to get the coupons. Our mail comes really late so maybe later today there might be something.

Unfortunately, I don't get the circulars because I'm probably considered "out of range" or something, being almost 60 miles away.

Several months ago, when I was there for my monthly shopping, the store was the busiest I had EVER seen it. I just happened to grab a shopping cart from someone in the parking lot who was done with it, not knowing what I was going to find in the store, and it was a good thing I did because they didn't have a single available cart in the store!

It turned out, this was after a circular mailing had just come out and I didn't know it because I didn't get one.

I don't know if they had the circulars available in the store, though - I didn't think to ask and I was just glad to get out of there alive......and on the same day I went in (it was that busy).

I'll be going again next week. Hmmmmm.....if some of you have gotten the circulars, maybe I had better prepare myself for another very crowded hour or so of WinCo shopping.

I went to Winco on opening day also and man I had to wait in line a long time to check out as it was so busy and overcrowded there. Now I shop during the week and it isn't so bad. There are many check stands open to help you get out as fast as possible.
I am so happy for you guys there. I always said if we moved to Vegas I would miss the Winco store. Now I don't have to worry about that.

I'm prepared for battle! This is one of the first stores opening this weekend in Las Vegas, so yeah, it's going to be crowded.

I just love that new store smell, lol
