What are the Top Cheap Places to Stay in Las Vegas by Strip?

Only list Places I've seen that are safe.

Weekly/Monthly Apartments:
1) Holiday Royale
2) Harbor Island

Hotels:
1) palace station ( not on strip. This is just to the left of the stratosphere over the LV Freeway bridge, off Sahara )
2) Circus Circus

Condos to rent:
3) Marie antoinette (if you can find somone renting// has views as well// some maintenance issues however i've heard ) . Great time to buy here if you have someone review and clear the condo of your interests.

I'm here only for 3 to 6 months. Will probably move after 3 months unless an exceptional deal OR a friend of a friend hooks me up with their condo.

Give some tips!

If only the Sahara hotel were still around

Imperial Palace is quite cheap too and it is mid strip, but it is a dump. If you are willing to stay downtown you can find some deals there too.

Harbour Island is safe?? Huh, who knew.

Another safe and cheap option near the strip would be Gold Coast (prob cheaper and closer to mid strip than Palace Station, which you mentioned. Another good option is South Point. A little south but very nice for the price.

Terribles on Flamingo--15 min walk to the strip.

Tuscany Resort 1.5 blocks east of Ballys, If I go to Vegas for 6 nights it works out to $25 ( January ) -$35 ( next week ) night. Ya, a $14 night resort fee added.
Rooms are 600 sq feet... very roomy.. nice place.

I will be there next week for Nascar

Imperial Palace sucks...... in 2007 my buddies and I made a pack to not stay there anymore.

I liked IP! Cheap, clean, and perfect location. The beds were actually very comfy, too. For the short amount of time we spent in the room, it served its purpose well. We were probably in the room about 7 hours a day...to sleep, shower, and change clothes. I didn't want to waste money on a pricier place. I'd stay there again, no problem. We had a ground floor outside room that was SO handy, and we could bypass the casino by walking around outside. Inside the casino we liked watching the dealertainers (saw a great performance of Disco Inferno by Tina Turner) and had a great meal at Hash House a GoGo.

Last time I went to Vegas alone I stayed at the IP. Perfectly servicable if boring. I was mostly playing poker at the Venetian, and kind of loathed having to walk back to the IP to sleep. But there wasn't anything problematic about it, except maybe slow elevators.

But I wouldn't say in a hotel for 3-6 months. Probably the most cost effective thing to do would be to rent a furnished room from a private owner.

Will you have a car (which would be a REALLY good idea)?

I heard lots of people complain about the elevators, but I never noticed they were slow. Granted our room was on the ground floor so we didn't use them as much, but going up to the pool they seemed to work fine.

IP => slow elevators and a smell by the garbage in the hallways by rooms was gross. They had towels stuffed under the doors to try stop it but it didn't help.
