If AZ and NV are similar in terms of the process, what is important, at the first appeal level, is to read the rules and present all the evidence you have, as you will likely not be able to present additional evidence if you proceed beyond the first appeal hearing. That's why hiring an attorney at a later stage of the proceedings makes even less sense than hiring one earlier in the process.
Exactly. Unless you end up losing the Board Of Review appeal and end up in District Court you don't need a lawyer. All they do is borrow your watch to tell you the time anyway. Here the first appeal goes to an "Appeals Referee", but I imagine the procedure is the same. Most states are nearly alike in UI since they all have to follow Federal Dept. of Labor guidlines. I've handled some Arizona interstate claims but don't remember the details.

Didn't know you handled appeals in AZ. Let me know if give misinformation, will you?

I think this post has like a quadruple negative in it

Buzz, your advice so far is spot on, as far as I'm concerned. I'm a little rusty on the UI stuff, but it does stick with you once you learn it!
