So I got my license already from taking the written test over (had an IL one before), but my girlfriend is going to be taking the test on Friday at the E Sahara location, and I was wondering if anyone has any tips or hints about what they deduct points on and what the autofails are.

She and I already read through this thread: //www.city-data.com/forum/las-v...g-my-road.html

but it would be great if anyone else has some more examples.

Based on the drivers I see on the road w/ NV plates, nobody fails, i.e. dont worry about it.

They normally take you by a school, it slows down to a 25 or 35 zone and then they will ask you to make a turn at the next light... a lot of people go back to normal driving speed on this turn and do not realise its still under the low speed zone - as the school is on a corner block.

Keep an eye out for it, other than that, it's a piece of cake.

Can't speak for Vegas, but when I got my license (granted, this was back in the late stone age) the big trip-ups were be sure to stop behind the stop sign and behind the stop line at a traffic light. Also, when turning onto a four lane road, turn into the closest lane (right on right turn, left lane on a left turn).

Thanks for the input so far, and does anyone know how long the Vegas drivers test last?

The one I took in Chicago was about 5-7 minutes or so, very quick, and very easy.

haha dyn...seriously when I took mine, by around the park near DMV on E Sahara, I only failed parallel parking because I did not turn on my signal coming out of it. I still got my license though.

This is going to make me look really stupid but I did not realize when you change states, you don't just transfer your driving license. Apparently I am going to have to retest again?

And Okiedokie, the rule about turning corners is easy if you remember you always stay in the same lane you were in before you turned the corner. It's not cool to make the turn and then at that point, decide to choose another lane.
