I am seeing alot of properties for rent in the upper part of 89149, particularly in the Tapestry HOA Community.

Apart from that area being kind of far out logistically, is there any other issues? Are there any grocery stores out that way?
I have researched and I keep coming back to this area, because I want a house, will be working in Summerlin, but can't afford 1100 + a month in rent.

Thanks!

Default Shopping

You're not going to find grocery stores that far north. The nearest ones to you would be off the US 95/Durango exit: Smith's if you turn west, Albertson's and Fresh & Easy if you turn east.

There may eventually be something up that way if the area continues to grow. When I moved into Centennial Hills in 1998, there was nothing north of Cheyenne as far as groceries.

The 1100 rent is average for the area. If you can't afford that, look into apartments or condos. Or an area east

Condos and Apartments won't do, a townhome, maybe. I am seeing what I want up in the Northern part of Centennial Hills. I just wanted to get a feel of exactly how isolated that area is. It can't be that bad its only 10 miles from my new job. The schools have good ratings up there, unlike the East Side.

Around Christmas, there were properties (houses) for rent around 900-950 in Summerlin/Centennial area, but as we get closer to "moving season" rental prices are edging up

Honestly, you're talking about a ten-minute commute (or less) to get to all the shopping you want. The fact that there is not a grocery store in the neighborhood shouldn't be a deciding factor, IMO, unless you need something within walking distance.

I'm not looking for a big home. Just a small 11-1200 Sq foot house. 2 or 3 bedrooms, 1 garage. I've seen your posts, and I am aware that your rental is much larger than that. It's just me and my daughter....

I am doing most of the legwork sight unseen, so I am just trying to figure out if that would be a good fit for us. But if its 10 minutes or less thats not a big deal. Thanks!
