I am from out of State and tere's a property in this town I was looking at possibly buying.

Does anyone know this town? Is there anything wrong with this area that I should know about?

it's an un-incorporated township and totally indistinguishable from any other part of Las Vegas/Clark County

I wouldn't buy anything sight unseen. Many don't like that part of town, with good reason. But I actually like it. It will be a predominantly ethnic area if that bothers you. Older homes, larger lots, mature trees/landscaping, good bang for the buck.

I would say predominantly hispanic, 60%+, blacks 20%, whites/asians the remainder. Just a rough guess.

89121 Winchester or Paradise Town. I agree good housing for the money. Older homes but compared to other areas in the states a home built in the 70's is quite new. I am in the process of buying a townhouse in Paradise the area seemed good ample stores and etc and easy access driving. Good location from the strip and airport a 10 to 15 min drive. Local casino Bolder station 3 miles away. Crime map looks good also. So my advise is get a good real state agent visit the area and hopefully some locals who live in this area will respond. Good luck in your quest.

I was wondering what "older home" meant in Vegas. When I hear "older home" I think 1920's-1950's, but then I have to remind myself that Vegas is not as old as other cities.

"Older homes" in Las Vegas is more like 1960s until early to mid 1980s. The construction boom started about 1986 or 1987. Before 1960 they are OLD homes. Before 1950 they probably don't exist anymore, or are on the National Registry of historical buildings maybe..

As far as the various townships, don't pay any attention to them. It's all Las Vegas whether technically within the city limits or not. The only thing about them to consider is most of the homes are "older", and that usually means mostly low income folks live in them. What is known as Winchester Township was one of the better neighborhoods when new in the 1960s and 1970s. Now a lot of it is just plain rundown, and crime rate is higher.

Big lots, established neighborhoods, a lot of front yards with grass(frontyard lawns have not been allowed for quite some time), some nice/big $$$ homes within the community, central part of LV, some low income people within the community, parks and public areas are somewhat ran down.
