The PLANT is local. But the milk comes in from all over. Mostly it comes from the Fresno area. But there could be milk from tens of thousands of different cows in one carton.

Milk is basically sold like a commodity to the packagers. That's why I don't drink it here. It doesn't taste like milk. I drink a lot of milk in Europe. But not here.

I wish there was a way to buy the real deal in Las Vegas. But there isn't.

I spent some time on a cattle ranch in Wyoming when I was a kid. Milk fresh outta the cow, eggs right from the hens, and maple syrup tapped from trees on the property. It was the best food I've ever eaten.

See -- there's something to this "buy food locally" idea that I've been harping on all this time.

My mother in law raises hens for the eggs. Big difference that you can taste. They also keep the bug population down on property. I'm sure some people are thinking, "Ewww, you eat eggs from chickens that eat BUGS." But that's what chickens do. At least that's what they do on real farms. They don't get much of a choice in the industrial horrors that pass for "farms" these days.

Just another reason why we don't spray poison all over the place.

Scoop, I think you can get pretty good milk from Winder Farms. They are in southern Utah and they deliver- like in the old days.

I think it is the lack of humidity. Works for bread anyway. Bread lasts ten times longer in LV than in MI. But, we can't find any good soft bread in LV. It is so dry. We have to double wrap sandwiches for lunch and they still get all dry.
