Hello everyone! So, after pondering a list of rec sports or other activities to get into, I decided that I want to join an MMA gym. Ideally, I want to join an gym that offers a variety in disciplines, but I do want to focus mostly on BJJ, with muay thai coming in second. I have visited TapOut and Throwdown over the past week, and am going to check out Robert Drysdale either today or tomorrow. Does anyone have any good recommendations for me? Also, I do want to look into places that specialize in BJJ.

Thank you!

Doesn't Wanderlai Silva have an MMA gym here in town?

Also, how about Extreme Couture?

I'll check out Wanderlei Silva. Extreme Couture is a little out of my budget range.

You can also look into Xcel Defense in the NW part of the valley. It offers MMA as well as Crossfit. Mica Cipili runs the BJJ program there. It's a smaller gym and they give discounts to military and law enforcement.

Of course but there is nothing wrong with multiple tools in the toolbox particularly. MMA can help your firearms training in things like weapons retention.

I don't care about self-defense, I am looking into eventually competing or fighting.

You don't need a gym, just do arm curls and bench presses...work only the muscles you can see in the mirror and buy a few schmedium affliction shirts ... you'll be fine!

Lol.
