Had a black Lexus SUV, no big deal, just make sure window are open before starting driving and A/C on full blast and it will take 5 minutes or so before you are comfortable. I have owned silver and white cars previously and I can tell you when it is hot, you wont feel the difference of various colors, it will be hot for all. I always parked in closed garages so washing and dirty cars was almost same for all colors.

Researchers at the Berkeley Lab Environmental Energy Technologies Division (EETD) say that the color of your car affects your car's fuel economy and how seriously you contribute to pollution. A light-colored shell reflects more sunlight than a dark car shell. The cooler the color, the cooler the cabin air, and the less of a need to run your air conditioner.

I owned a black car when I moved here. I didn't notice a marked difference after I traded it in on a silver vehicle. Most of your heat will come in through the windows anyway.

I've got 2 black cars. One I've had for 9 years, the other I just bought. Both parked in the garage the majority of the time.

so i own
94 Hot Rod Red Wrangler
96 all black Grand Cherokee
03 all Black Grand Cherokee
04 forest Green Chevy Aveo
12 All Black Chevy Avalanche.

Never owned a black vehicle before moving to the desert. Something that I have come accross while living here since 94, black cars always seem cheaper to me. That's how I got the 03 Grand Cherokee, and the 12 chevy Avalanche. Both were cheaper then the other comterparts of lighter color. Having had multiple cars of color and value, I think the level of insulation on the car might make a bigger deal than the color. I can leave the Green Aveo in the shade, and the 12 Avalanche in direct sunlight, for the same amount of time for both. When I come back and turn them both on, and turn on the AC, the Aveo will be hotter inside, and will remain hotter longer. The Avalanche has much more insulation, and the Aveo( being a very cheap little commuter) has almost no insulation to keep the heat (or cold) out.

The other consideration to consider, is keeping them clean. Black cars show dust, WATER Spots, and chips. White cars show the road grime off the road. (had an all white Dodge Ram). My favorte just for looking the best in our enviroment and ease of maintanance, would be the Hot Rod Red, blinds the eyes to imperfections.
