Do you have to use the DMV that is in your neighborhood or the closest to where you live? Or can you use any DMV???

Just wondering for when we move there....

And since we are coming from out of state I would assume we would need Smog checks before we get plates....

If anyone knows thanks beforehand for the info...

Nevada DMV has a cool, free app for iPad and iPhone. You can get it here. Its best feature might be that it provides current wait times for you.

Unless you have commercial vehicle or commercial licensing you can go to any DMV. If you do have commercial vehicle issues, you must go to the DMV on Donovan Way in North Las Vegas.

The opinions here is, the best DMV is either the one on Flamingo, or in needles? (is that right)

The DMV on N. Decatur is supposed to be better than the Flamingo location.

Also be prepared to pay plenty of $$$$. When we moved here from MA we were used to Laing 40. To register the cars. When the DMV person told us 653.00 for one and 485.00 for the other car I almost threw up...lol

It all depends on what you drive. My car is only $54 a year.
