Looking at a house online in this subdivision and wanted local input. Is there only one entrance into the community or a second one? (Sorry, it's hard "house hunting from 2,000 miles away!!!)
The house I am looking at is towards the back, and it "looks" like a quick 1/3 mile jaunt to Target, yet when I mapped it on google maps, it was over 3 miles because of getting through the front gate. I just didn't know if there was a walking path to enter or exit!! Being able to walk to shop is very important to me as I am trying to get healthier AND save money too, but don't think I want to carry bags over 3 miles! LOL Thanks!!

Therre is a back entrance to Ann road. So you can get in from either Ann or Lone Mountain. It is at Ann and Old Grove Way. It may be a little misleading as it is right next to their RV parking lot.

From the back gate on Ann Rd, to the front gate on Lone mt. is a pretty far walk. Walking from the back gate to target is probably a 20 min walk one way. I would caution that Ann Rd traffic in that area is at freeway speeds (speed limit is 45 but more like 55-65) and you should really watch out if your a pedestrian in that area.

I have a client that lives in that area. It's mostly retired seniors and it's kept clean.

Yep, pulling out onto Ann Rd from the back gate has always looked pretty dangerous to moi, even before development arrived in that area and Decatur dead-ended right there.

Thanks everyone!! I will definitely be checking it out in person SOON!! I fly out there tomorrow so I will get to see homes and neighborhoods FINALLY!! I am making my "spreadsheet" to use for my appointments for homes to compare each!! I have 6 lined up to see tomorrow already and 2 on Saturday! Friday is still open, other than my husbands meetings! I'm excited to FINALLY be able to see something other than on a computer!! Just trying to keep it as organized as possible and get the safest place for our family!!! Leaving our 80 degree weather behind!! LOLOL Don't matter to me, I love warm/hot weather and I am used to humidity in FL/GA!

Any tips or input would be GREATLY appreciated now rather than later!! LOLOL

I HOPE to have ppwk signed on a rental by the time we leave there Sat Night so we can move right in once we make the lovely 2200 mile journey with everything in tow!!

I would have your agent print you the comps so that you're ready to make an offer. Keep in mind most homes are getting multiple offers so be ready to offer a little more if it's the house you really want.

That's a very sound strategy and one probably not utilized often enough by newcomers to Las Vegas. I rented for a year when I moved here and spent a lot of time getting to know neighborhoods. When I was ready to buy, I felt I was well informed about where I might want to live - also where I definitely wouldn't want to live.

Good luck.
