Let's be honest. The place is old. It's facilities are not really 5 star by any means except The Steakhouse. Probably the only reason it has not been demolished to make way for a new resort is because of the big recession. Before the big recession it was pretty much assumed that CC had a very short amount of life left on the strip. It doesn't exactly attract the high rollers that the rest of the strip caters to. When I was there it had lots of kids running around and even people in campers in the parking lot. Not that there is anything wrong with kids and campers but they are not exactly a fit in on the strip. But CC survives to see another day. Do you think it has a future?

Circus Circus makes money. It's not going anywhere soon.

Assumed by who? You?

It is not meant to attract high rollers. That is why Circus Circus (when it was a stand-alone company) built Mandalay Bay. That way, they were able to attract business from both ends of the consumer spectrum.

I dont see it lasting another 10 years. It presents a value option which many are looking for but you can get a lot more for not much more money at other locations along the strip. A modern version of it would do well along boulder hwy I think. Im not sure what take its place in that area. Every casino cant be the Bellagio.

Circus Circus caters to a different crowd. It has a large RV lot in the back. I may be wrong but I don't know of another hotel on the strip that has one.

We were there Sunday, really don't see it going anywhere. It is one of the last kid places on the strip, it was very very packed. Don't see how they are not making money.

I agree. Circus Circus fills a niche in Las Vegas unlike any other property. Years ago there were other hotels that had something for families: MGM, Treasure Island (arcade), and there was a water park on the strip as well. Today the masses coming in from California for the weekend (with kids) really only have Circus and Excalibur from which to choose, and Circus is cheaper to stay at than is Excalibur. And for the young crowd who are sampling Las Vegas for the first time from out of state, a charter airline and a few days during the week at Circus not only represents a great value, it frees up some cash in a tight budget for more fun on the strip.

Also there are the frequent adult visitors that would stay at Circus because the rooms are cheap and they only use the facilities to sleep. Then they scatter up and down the strip for gambling, eating, shows, etc.

Locals can take their kids to the Adventuredome for a fun afternoon at a reasonable price.

We all know that anything can happen on the strip, especially with older properties. But my guess is that Circus has at least 10 more years in it, and probably even more.

Budget minded conventioneer love CC, as do grandma and grandpa when they have the grandkids! Pull the RV in, let the kids play and get to gamble too...
