Well, then, the distance isn't a problem since Las Vegas to Reno is only half the distance you mentioned!

Distances are much closer in km. I am thinking about using km for my drive from San Francisco to Las Vegas. The drive will be much faster

According to an online converter, 1600 km equals 994.1939 miles.

1000 miles or so to the nearest city counts a quick trip to WalMart or the grocery store out of the question. You best have one heck of a shopping list when you go into town for supplies.

Imagine that honey-do list. Hey honey go to the store and pick up some butter. All righty, see you in a week.
