Okay, it makes sense now, that's why they closed the main gate into the federal hospital.

Most of those contracts came into play right after the 9-11 attacks. Sometime in 2002. I think for 10 years. So it makes even more sense(cents), since the government is looking to cut back everywhere. No extension.

They cut some gate hours and closed a couple gates also.

That was my primary entrance to the hospital.(southern gate on LVB) much faster.

Gone are the days that you could tell the guard you're just visiting and be waved through the gate; then we could drive around and look at the planes, visit the 'O' Club, go to a wedding in the Base Chapel, or bid on surplus military gear; and nobody thought you were a terrorist.

Very true. Sadly, the last time I was on base was for a funeral for a Captain who died in Iraq.

When I was little one of our family friends was an airman out there and took us on a tour. Not only did I get to see the planes, I got to sit in one. If I find that photograph in all my stuff, I'll post it.

Nellis has seemed particularly active recently. I guess the Red Flag thing explains it. Quiet today, though.
