Awesome! Same day shipping!

The big box stores and other B&M retailers have been whining about online sellers not having to collect sales taxes. Amazon's answer? "Fine, we'll establish a presence in every state. We'll do it by opening distribution centers and providing same day shipping - for no extra charge." Bet those retailers are now wishing they hadn't complained so much...

We shall see. I think Amazon has to do a lot better than today to maintain their position. 7 to 10% is a big advantage...no more.

I am skeptical that Amazon will survive without the tax advantage. I am a big Amazon customer but will cease to be if they lose their economic advantage. I would actually rather use a local guy...but not 8%^ worth.

That is good news if they pay more than the minimum wage that many new warehouse type businesses pay. There are other warehouse distribution centers in NLV. I toured the Walmart Dist Ctr once and found the technology of moving 1000s of items by computer driven conveyors from floor to ceiling fascinating.

Living in Kansas, I've always had to pay sales tax on my amazon orders. You get used to it after a while. This means I often use amazon just for the convenience factor.
