My Shiba inu dog was acting strange. Not moving and really focus. Had to get her out of the shrubs. So I didn't know what was wrong with her. I let her out a few minutes later and I find this... There might be more in the shrubs hidden.

Is it poisonous or harmful to dogs? Never seen one here in Vegas. What if my retarded 5lbs chihuahua tries to bite it?

Just set it on the other side of your fence, problem solved. Some toads excrete poison, which may be strong enough to irritate your dog's mouth. Then again, I played with toads identical to that one as a kid and never had any irritation.

Frogs are one of my favorite animals. Do you have some sort of pond in your backyard or live near a golf course with a water trap? If you'd like to be rid of it, Discovery Park at Aliante might be a good place.

Frogs are a symbol of prosperity, by the way. Take it as a good omen.

I had no idea we had toads here. I thought they needed a lot of humidity.

If your dog eats a toad he may throw up. Toads usually don't stay down. Voice of experience here. We had tons of toads in Minnesota.

And you thought it was a good idea to eat one?

Looks like a basic frog. Most poisonous frogs are brightly colored (as a warning to predators) and live in the tropics.

Thanks everyone else. I live near the wetlands so somehow it made it over the 7ft concrete wall? I'll let it be. Looks like it disappeared for now until night time.

I don't know anything about the types of toads in Las Vegas. But I do know that some toads are very poisonous to pets, and can be deadly for them. When I lived in Florida, a friend's Jack Russell died after biting a toad. Lots of information on the internet. Here is one article.

All the poisonous toads in Las Vegas are either on the strip or in local politics.
