It's ironic how now some of the new ones a decade ago are starting to be viewed as old and getting run down. Some examples are Excalibur Luxor and etc. I guess it is what you see or do in each place which that you like that makes it special. I enjoy the poker room at the Excalibur for example. So if someone post something they like about an older casino so be it and don't run down the person because they like it. No one is forcing anyone to go to these places.

Today the formula for success on the strip would not have been recognizable back then. Steve Wynn and others saw into the future and, for better or for worse, effected huge change up and down the strip, change that cannot ever be undone.

If I were to go looking on the strip for the feel of those days, I would likely go to the Flamingo. I have not been into the Tropicana for a long time, but it used to have that feel.
What about The Riviera?
And call me stupid, but I always get a kick out of going to the Slots O' Fun also

What I miss most about the "old Las Vegas" are the live bands playing in every lounge throughout the day. So much talent, so much entertainment.

I don't think anyone has mentioned the Trop. It may be the oldest on the Strip.

I was trying to list casino's that were the way they were before renovations. Tropicana is or was being updated. Forgot about the Flamingo for some reason.

Please keep in mind tourist (many of them) these places still left are new to them and there will always be a demand for cheaper cost casinos for folks to stay at.
