Does anybody have a connection at a local tv station...I have an idea to help pay for my wifes mounting cancer bills... I have a 2005 Bmw x3 that I want to raffle off. Figure $100 a ticket, 1,000 tickets and the cancer bills would be close to being paid off so far...

We had to cash pay the first two surgeries since COVENTRY INSURANCE considered her cancer a pre existing condition and denied everything...

That's four words.

But you're absolutely correct that the GCB is going to come after airics with the legal equivalent of "a blowtorch and pair of rusty pliers" if he tries to raffle a used car for $100 large.

I am so sorry, you and your wife are dealing with this illness. I don't want to be presumptuous, as I don't know anything about your situation, but if you are paying cash for a lot of treatments, could you possibly hire a medical billing advocate who would go through all the bills with a fine tooth comb and make sure you are paying a truly fair fee or negotiate a cash payers rate?

Lots of stuff pops up when I Google "Medical Billing Advocate"

Good luck to you, whatever the outcome!

Always ask for the Medicare rate when you are paying cash for medical in Vegas. The private payers do not generally reimburse at the Medicare rate (much lower, actually) and many practices would say yes to a cash patient at that rate.

Don't ask the girl at the front desk. Ask the office manager or billing manager or the physician.

My sincerest hopes for a full recovery for your wife and peace of mind for you, Airics.
