Im coming to Vegas on Thursday and am in need of what I described in the title. A great location next to all the sights would be great also. Does such a place exist?

Yup, Imperial Palace, and they always have vacancies. Be prepared for the construction though. You can't get a cheaper place in the middle of the Strip.

Isn't there a Motel 6 or 8 next Hooters. They can't be too much.

Mirage is cheap. I stay there from time to time (Staycations)

Just look at the different places I guess. Rio is off the strip or heck if you wanna really go cheap there is the Gold Coast, I grew up eating buffets at that place. It's not bad or anything. The great thing about the rio is that though it may be off strip they have a shuttle onsight that takes you downtown(Fremont) and to the Strip. It's an all suite hotel, I've always liked them.

Not as nice at The Hotel which is perhaps my favorite(that i've stayed at)

But cheaper.

Well you gotta understand. You can't get a BMW for a pinto price.

Unless you got an awesome deal somehow.

The nice hotels are expensive.

You're not supposed to really stay in the room anyways.
I personally think you would get the most bang for the buck out at the Red Rock and commute to the strip.

I know though, you wanna stay on the strip.

I don't know what Cheap really means.

I think Vegas rooms are cheap compared to say SF where I just went.

You want something down the middle I am guessing.

Monte Carlo is nicer than it gets credit for imo.

The trop upgraded their rooms recently, might get a steal there.

Planet Hollywood is a bargain as well.

LVH is another off strip option, it's a nice place.

The Mirage looked pretty good. I saw the Monte Carlo last night and liked it. Does the Mirage really have a nude pool?
Thursday nights are cheap, it amazing how much they go up on Friday.
