Yup, the underground/illicit economy in Vegas is astronomical. The unemployment numbers and official economic data provides an incomplete picture of the Vegas economy.

I do (contract) investigations for folks applying for federal security clearances and more than a few times I have come across a subject that derives income from an undeclared--likely illicit or vice related--source.

They just can't explain how the family unit lives a lifestyle that is obviously beyond their declared means.

I'm pretty sure that's on jackpots and tournament winnings over a certain amount, not cash.
