When we go we rent a vehicle and we have always stayed on the strip. We usually see a show and the type varies widely from Ka, to The Phat Pack, to the Rat Pack at the Plaza.

We used to walk and take the bus up and down the strip, but since we're older renting a car is a better option. We've learned the back roads and have found parking is free at pretty much all the casinos. We will walk between one or two still, but not too far. Having a car also allows us to go to off strip casinos and places like Valley of Fire, the dam, and Red Rock. It also gets us to McMullan's for Irish and Trivia on Tuesdays. Something that has become a tradition if you can call it that after a just few years. It also makes it easy to get to malls if needed, and places like Quiznos, Five Guys, etc.

We don't do clubs. We leave that to the youngsters. We do like to find a nice restaurant that has outdoor eating on the strip and do a bit of people watching. Very rewarding. We used to go to Cafe Ba Ba Reeba for tapas, sangria, and people watching, but it closed.

I work on the strip.
No biggie.
Been there done that...
For the love of Buddah, I couldn't tell you why my dear lovely wife decided she HAD to have me drive her down the strip on Halloween night.
Right after the last trick-or-treater knocked on the door, we were in the car.
2 hour ordeal.

It ultimately deserved it's demise. I used to like it too, but they must have gotten new management or something because that place went downhill fast.

if I was a visitor to Las Vegas, I'd probably do Mandalay Bay on the strip and / or the Golden Nugget downtown, especially in the summer because they both have nice water features.

Some of it depends on what you are looking for. Star spotting? Strip. Informal party in the streets? Fremont.

The strip is weird. It's too much money, too many people. I actually prefer Fremont street myself. There's an awesome pub there too!
