My apartment in Vegas will not be ready for move in until December 16th. However, I am so ready to leave Texas, I am willing to do a motel two weeks before. Can anyone recommend a nice, clean affordable place with decent rates? I will be living near the Summerlin area, but have a car and can stay elsewhere if that means not paying an arm and a leg. Thanks in advance.

You can be mobile and move from casino to casino. Many have very reasonable rates on weekdays though some weekend days may get expensive. Silverton and the Stations come to mind.

The old standby is the Budget Suites. Livable not fancy. The one on Rancho is reasonably convenient to Summerlin

There are a La Quinta and a Marriot Courtyard convenient but more expensive.

Thanks. I will check out the Budget Suites.

Baymont Inn & Suites (formally Microtel Inn & Suites) south of the strip right beside the outlet mall is nice. Offers free breakfast and wi-fi. I usually get $80/night on the weekends. It's also a newer property and not run down.

There is also a Courtyard Mariott close by, but not sure what they charge.

Both are easy access to the highways.

You can stay at any of the casinos downtown or on boulder for approx 30-40 per weeknight. Then do some research for a good weekend rate and jump around.

Agreed. I am getting deals like $20-40 from a number of casino properties in the area. A Marriott or LaQuinta can easily be twice as much.

You can stay at the Rio for $39/nite on weekdays. Then just move somewhere else cheaper on the weekend. Or stay put, and the rate will average out to $59 - still pretty cheap.

When I was looking for a home in April I stayed at Extended Stay Hotels for about $45 a night. There are a number of them in the Vegas area. The room includes a refrigerator, hotplate, dishes and cooking utensils.

Careful. The local brats refer to Budget Suites as 'Budget Tweakers"

(Vegas kids tend to be rather worldly, so I'd take their word for the type of neighbors you'll get there)
