^^ I know, right? It's amazing that some of these gems haven't been snapped up by some lucky girl.

I would ideally like to find a relationship but I also don't mind finding a girl who is superficial to use for the night. Does any one have a recommendations for the best places to live? I would ideally like to buy for $400K and under.

As a single 24 year-old woman I was going to just kind of lurk in this thread. You know, just to get some perspective from men and to see where their heads are at. Perhaps it could potentially shed some light on why I can't seem to find a man in this town who doesn't just want to use me for personal gratification and toss me out in the morning.

Most of the responses have been discouraging to different degrees, but this statement takes the cake. Perhaps you will not find a good woman because you are still open to "using them for the night"? Just a thought.

Threads like these always bring out the long term lurkers.

I believe this city has women that use men for the night as well. Probably more for their finances.

I dont think a decent woman in any town would allow a man to "use her for the night". So any woman that gets "used for the night" probably does not mind or wants to be "used for the night".

I have a co-worker that tell us stories about dating a girl for almost 6 months without getting laid. He only wishes that he gets used for the night. Ha...

Don't worry, herpes is the gift that keeps on giving and the universe has a sense of humor.

Most people in Vegas meet their dates through work, shared activities like hiking, or online. Most of the men I've met in the medical community are pretty cool, except the doctors. Doctors tend to have the social skills of homeless people. Too much job stress.

Here is a secret. Quality tends to attract quality. Then again Vegas is a 24 hour town so always consider that. A plus for women is no kids and no tats.. Pluses for men I can't speak on..

Don't worry. There are still plenty of women waiting in line to date doctors.

My thoughts on this issue:

There are very many physically attractive women in vegas.

The women--indeed the people here--tend to be flakey.

People often work odd hours here so it can be hard fomenting a relationship if you keep traditional hours. No, I dont want to meet you for dinner at 2300.

If you enjoy cultured, well traveled, and wordly people you will have a hard time finding them here. This is a service orientated town so intellectual wattage is secondary to your cup size. I am a techie by trade but spent two + years as a road warrior for a big five consulting firm so I have a solid base for comparison.

If you seek out hot, smart, and fit women you need to stay in san fran or dc or some other comparable place where they know the difference between an ambulance chaser and an ip attorney.

Iam not talking high-brow folk but rather someone who picks up the economist or peruses the atlantic monthly.

Vegas is good for fun but the demographics of the population here yield a certain climate.

That being said, if you earn a little bit of dough and can string a word or two together you can date pretty women--just be careful when they ask for help with bills.

There are always exceptions but the norm is standard.

Maybe I should clarify my statement. I'm not looking for girls just to hook up with. But in my short lifetime I've been in several relationships and none of them have been the one. I was always so focused on finding that right person I forgot to just have fun. Moving to Vegas for me is a chance to have fun. Ideally sure I would love to meet my future wife. Realistically I think the odds of it happening overnight are slim to none. I just want to enjoy the city and all it has to offer and if that means meeting some one who isn't looking for a long term so be it. Not my ideal relationship but gotta live life while you can.

I know, God bless them. Doctors are hard enough to get along with. Imagine if they weren't getting any?

Many of the younger men (twenties) I know here have complained that they have a hard time meeting nice young women. Sometimes, they don't want the hassles of dealing with someone who already has a child (totally understandable) or they complain that the girls they date go out with their girlfriends and party too much.

The young women complain about their boyfriends being unemployed and expecting to be supported, and DUI's.

These are all people I've met through work, so I have no insight into the club scene.

Vegas offers more opportunities for bad behavior than most cities, so you do see it. There are good people here though. You just have to look for them.
